LA TANIA RESORT INFORMATION
GOOD VALUE SKIING
The ski press all agree that La Tania offers the best value in the Courchevel Valley, with reasonably priced bars and restaurants, and lovely accommodation for less. Our chalets are close to the slopes. The ski area of The Three Valleys can be quickly accessed with a modern lift system and well managed slopes.
If you’re looking for reliable snow and pretty scenery, lying at 1450m altitude La Tania has the best of both worlds: good snow through the season (backed up by snow cannons on the blue and green) and tree-clad pistes that offer good visibility when the snow gods have decided to bless us.
FRIENDLY VIBE
In this picturesque wooded setting, visitors are delighted by the chocolate box chalets and village atmosphere of La Tania. There’s a friendly vibe in the town, with family friendly bars and restaurants as well as a buzzing après-ski scene with live bands most nights of the week.
The centre is car-free which means that children can play at the foot of the slopes securely, either sledging or in the play park.
ACCESS ALL AREAS
Venturing up the main gondola is easy for both skiers and pedestrians. At the top you can access two high-speed chair lifts (Dou des Lances or Bouc Blanc) from which you can ski into either Courchevel or Meribel. The Bouc Blanc restaurant located just by this main bubble lift is a favourite venue for many La Tania regulars: you can enjoy mountain restaurant drinks and dining without the hefty price-tags that can sometimes be a surprise in neighbouring resorts.
Beginner skiers and children usually make their first turns on the nursery slope in the village, and later in the week can make their way up the bubble to join the long and winding green slope back to the village. More experienced skiers enjoy the undulating blue Folyeres, or red Moretta back to resort.
AMENITIES
Within the village you’ll find a small supermarket, a tourist office and post office, ski shops (including our recommended ski hire shop Ski Higher), restaurants ranging from Michelin star to pizzeria, delicatessen. The village is in easy walking distance from the Ski Dazzle chalets.
GETTING AROUND
La Tania is small enough to explore on foot, and if you want to get further afield to Le Praz, Courchevel 1850, Courchevel Moriond or Courchevel Village, then it’s easy to take the free buses. Running from early morning until midnight, you can use them with skis (should you decide to finish your day in a different part of the valley) or venture out after your chalet dinner to visit any number of bars to watch sports, sip Champagne or dance to one of our brilliant local bands.
APRES-SKI & NIGHTLIFE
In La Tania, there are several bars in which to raise a glass to your day’s skiing before heading back to the chalet. If you enjoy dancing in ski boots then the infamous Ski Lodge is the place to head to! If you’re with children then the Chrome Bar has a large terrace next to a little slope where little ones enjoy sledging. In the evenings, La Taiga often has live music and is a nice place to sip a civilised drink on quieter nights. The Ski Lodge is open late, as is the Chrome Bar and La Taiga.
