Summer 2018

The lifts opened in Courchevel this weekend, and the lift system in Courchevel is free this summer, so a bonus for tourists coming to the area. You do, however have to pay for the lifts in the Meribel and Belleville valleys.

There are some easy walks and mountain bike trails on our doorstep. This weekend, we enjoyed a lovely walk behind Bozel towards Tincave. In the photo below, you can see Le Praz, La Tania, 1550 and 1650.

The school holidays have now begun here in France.
At the end of the school term, we enjoyed a day out in Meribel. William and his class mates had some fun pony riding and also climbing in the trees.

The work continues in Le Praz on the new multi purpose building, which will house a medical centre, tourist office, sports facilities and underground car park for 500 cars. A new grandstand for the world cup event is also being built, plus the new 10 seater gondola will be incorporated into the new building.
There is not much to see for now, but you can see the scale of the project, from the photo below, taken a couple of weeks ago.

We have started work on Chalet Juliette to complete its makeover. There are just two bedrooms and bathrooms to do this summer. We have taken out the step in the bedrooms, so the floor will be on one level. The walls will be re-decorated, and we’ll be putting down a parquet floor.

In the bathrooms, there will be new floor and wall tiles, and a new bathroom suite to include a large walk in shower.

The wall in the lounge which cracked this winter due to the pressure of the snow on the roof is also being fixed.

We will keep you posted of the progress throughout the summer.
